What makes up the construction time of a steel building

From signing the contract to commissioning — from three months. We explain which stages can run in parallel and which can’t be shortened.

Stages

KM design (structural drawings) takes 2–3 weeks, KMD (shop drawings) another 2. Manufacturing — from 30 days depending on the tonnage. Foundations — 3–6 weeks. Erection — from 3 weeks.

Foundations can be poured while the plant manufactures the frame, and manufacturing can start from finished KMD sheets without waiting for the whole design.

Where time is lost

Most often in approvals: changes to the process after the KMD is issued shift manufacturing by weeks. Fix the equipment loads before design starts.
