Next.js IT conference website · program, tickets, networking

Conference website

At a conference with three rooms, attendees spend the first hour figuring out where to go — and still end up at the wrong talk. Here they describe what they do in their own words and get a schedule without overlaps, with every choice explained. Tickets are bought for the whole team at once with an invoice for a company, and networking stops being random: the system shows who is hiring and who is looking for a contractor, and reserves a table for the break.

Scenario: Gradient conference in Nizhny Novgorod — fictional: 2 days, 3 rooms, 4 tracks, 32 talks and workshops, 20 speakers, 900 attendees.

Open the demo

Star talks or take the AI selection — try describing your task in your own words. Buy tickets with the promo code GRADIENT10, STUDENT or NN2026, and on the order page “scan” a ticket at the entrance. In the account you can sign in as a demo attendee and arrange a networking meeting. Purchases, schedules and meetings appear in the owner dashboard.

Leads from the demo website are visible only to you, in the “Owner dashboard”: the server validates the form and stores nothing.

What the demo shows

  • A 2-day program: a grid across three rooms on desktop and a timeline on mobile, filters by track and level, “mine only”

  • Personal schedule: a star in the program, overlaps highlighted, and in a conflict you choose which talk to keep

  • AI selection: role, topics, level, days, ticket and a free-text request — a schedule without overlaps with an explanation for each talk and an option to swap in an alternative

  • Tickets in three price waves: online, standard and Pro with workshops; promo codes limited by type and quantity, a team discount from 5 people — the larger one applies

  • Purchase for several attendees, payment by card, SBP or a company invoice with tax ID checksum validation

  • A QR code for every ticket with a check digit, ticket transfer to a colleague with a reissued code, and entrance check: admitted, already admitted, cancelled

  • Networking: a profile with role, topics and goal — matches with a percentage and explanation, free slots during breaks, a meeting with a table

  • Attendee account: schedule with calendar (.ics) and email export, orders and tickets, meetings

  • An owner dashboard with ticket purchases, schedules, meetings, ticket transfers and partner requests

How to try it

  1. Build a schedule

In the “AI selection” block, write, for example, “I’m a backend developer, we’re adding RAG to support but it’s expensive” and press “Pick talks”.

  2. Adjust the selection

Read the explanation for each talk, swap one for an alternative from the list and save the schedule to your account.

  3. Buy tickets

Choose “Standard” for two, enter the promo code STUDENT and pay with a company invoice — the tax ID is checked against its checksum.

  4. Get in at the entrance

On the order page, press “Scan ticket 1” twice: the first time it lets you in, the second time it says “already admitted”. Transfer the second ticket to a colleague — the old QR code stops working.

  5. Arrange a meeting

In the account’s “Networking” tab, fill in your profile and choose a person and a free slot during a break.

No paid neural networks

There are no paid neural network requests: the free-text request is parsed by rules in the browser, and the schedule is built by an algorithm that picks non-overlapping talks with the most value for the attendee. In a production version the text is understood by a language model, with the program and room rules given to it as tools — it won’t suggest a talk that doesn’t exist or put two talks at the same time. Networking participants and their availability are simulated; the conference, speakers and talks are fictional.

The demo runs without OpenAI, YandexGPT or GigaChat API keys. Wherever a production system calls a model, there’s a local stub with the same interface — so the demo is free, always available and never makes things up.

What a production project adds

  • Tickets sold via acquiring with a fiscal receipt under 54-FZ or a ticketing service (Timepad, Yandex Afisha) via API; company invoices from 1C
  • Entrance check — an app for volunteers with a QR scanner that works offline and syncs
  • Emails with tickets and reminders via a mailing service; meeting notifications in the conference Telegram bot
  • AI selection by a language model (YandexGPT or GigaChat) with the program as a tool; networking on profile embeddings with consent to be shown

For business

  • A personal schedule without overlaps solves the main pain of a multi-track conference: attendees know in advance where to go and don’t leave in the middle of a talk.
  • Price waves and a team discount drive early sales, and an invoice for a company with a tax ID check removes back-and-forth with accounting.
  • Networking with explained matches is why people buy an in-person ticket: “hiring — looking for a job” and “need a contractor — selling a solution” introductions don’t happen by chance.

For developers

  • Selection is weighted interval scheduling solved with dynamic programming for each day: a 90-minute workshop competes fairly with the two talks it overlaps.
  • The ticket code carries the type, order number and a Luhn check digit — the scanner itself rejects typos, and transferring a ticket reissues the code and invalidates the old one.
  • Prices, promo codes, attendee matches and slot occupancy are pure functions with tests; occupancy is deterministic, so slots don’t “jump” between reloads.

Tips

  • Tip 01

Explain every choice the algorithm makes: “from your query: RAG and search” builds more trust than a bare list of talks.

  • Tip 02

Don’t stack discounts silently: if the team discount is larger than the promo code, show that the larger one was applied — otherwise the buyer will think the code didn’t work.
