Python by Example: Practice, Practice and Only Practice
D. M. Koltsov
- Programming
- Python
A Python workbook: language basics, object-oriented programming and metaprogramming. Minimal theory: every topic is covered through examples you can run and modify.
Key ideas
- A language is learned hands-on: example → run → modify → new example.
- Classes in Python are objects too; they can be created and changed while the program runs.
- Decorators and metaclasses are for repeated logic, not for show.
- Readability matters more than brevity: good Python code is clear on the first read.
How I apply it
Python is my main language. I build AI agent and bot backends with it, including this site’s FastAPI API. Decorators for retries, logging and checks are in almost every project.
Where and how I applied it

Demo · Machine learning in Python · runs in the browser
Marketplace review analytics
Each marketplace has its own source class with a shared fetch method, so Wildberries, Ozon and Yandex Market go through the same code; sentiment and aspects run on scikit-learn.

Demo · Python scraper · runs in the browser
Competitor price monitoring
A Python price parser with pytest tests that runs right in the browser via Pyodide: three sites, three parsers.

Demo · Telegram and Max · knowledge base search
AI support from a knowledge base
A support bot on Python and aiogram, one codebase for Telegram and Max.

Hands-On APIs for AI and Data Science
Ryan Day
A practical book on building an API for data and connecting AI to it. The running project is a FastAPI service with a database and documentation, then an SDK for it, using the API in analytics and, finally, LangChain agents that call the API themselves.

Server Applications in Python, Django, Flask and FastAPI
R. S. Bukharev
The path of server-side development in Python, from sockets and protocols to architecture and launch on a server. Django, Flask and FastAPI are covered through real projects: a CRM system, a Telegram bot with server-side logic, a REST API for a mobile app and a WebSocket chat. Separate chapters cover caching and scaling, Docker and Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite and MongoDB, and security: password hashing, JWT and OAuth 2.0, protection against SQL injection, XSS and CSRF, TLS.
